Has Kim Kardashian Found the Perfect Fitness Regime, and Would it Work for you?

Here’s the verdict…

1. Write Down Your Fitness Goals

According to one of Kim’s personal trainers, Kim makes a big deal about writing down her fitness goals as part of her regime.

This kind of planning ahead is something I can vouch for myself as an excellent tool to keep you motivated and on track to achieve your goals.

When you carve out a little time to focus on the specifics of your fitness and weightloss goals, you help to ensure you stick to them.

Goal setting when it comes to your exercise routine or diet is an amazing way to hold yourself accountable and also provides a framework for what you want to achieve. That’s helpful for when you experience doubt or feel less-disciplined about your regime - it can give you the inspiration required to carry on.

Speaking from my own experience, knowing that I made a commitment to myself, forces me on in times of weakness or when I simply don’t feel like going the extra mile that day. It’s a reminder that the only person I am letting down is myself.

Try creating goals for a week or a month ahead at a time and see how it helps to keep you on the right track.

2. Mix Up Your Exercise Routine

Kim mixes her gym routine up with a combination of weight training and cardio. This is pretty standard advice, particularly for women in their 30s and 40s.

A combination of weight training and cardiovascular training can produce amazing results if you are looking to build muscle and burn fat at the same time. It’s a great idea to incorporate both cardio and weight-based exercises like weightlifting, bodyweight exercise, and resistance band workouts into your routine.

Cardio helps to burn calories and enhance stamina and endurance, and weight-based exercises help to increase muscle mass, improve bone density and build your strength.

3. Choosing the Right Carbs

Luckily Kim knows that carbohydrates are important fuel for the body, as she chooses to load up on healthy complex carbs like sweet potatoes and vegetables, with maybe small amounts of fat and protein, like chicken before and after her workouts.

She also admits to loving the odd sweet treat and keeping a balanced approach to diet.

It is so important to accentuate the need for a healthy approach to food. Becoming obsessed with every tiny thing you put in your mouth is actually really harmful to your health, not to mention no fun at all.

If you are treating your body like the amazing vessel it is and nourishing it with nutrient dense food most of the time, the odd cookie or piece of cake is not going to send you into bad health.

In my experience, the more you choose healthy alternatives, the easier it is to keep choosing them the majority of the time. You train yourself to crave the foods that are actually nourishing your body and keeping you healthy and radiant.

The Takeaway

Having a positive attitude, being disciplined, taking regular exercise and eating right is the perfect way to create a long-lasting and successful fitness regime.

At the end of the day, it’s not that complicated at all. You don’t even need to join a gym, you can take a run or a cycle around your block and use body-weight or light hand weights and resistance bands at home.

From my perspective, the most important ingredient in your regime is the desire to improve your health and love your body enough to treat it right.
