4 Easy Nutrition Tips Most People Overlook (No Extreme Diet Needed!)

Do you ever feel like following a specific weight-loss plan just doesn’t stick for you? No matter how hard you try and how motivated you thought that you were?

For so many people this is the case. They start out fully motivated and lose steam after a few days or weeks.

Why does that happen?

I’ve come to the conclusion that simplicity is the key to success in almost everything in life. The more you overcomplicate things, the harder they are to stick to.

Let’s say you were on a real roll of eating good, then you get invited out to dinner at a nice restaurant. You decide to allow yourself one night of indulgence, order the creamiest, richest dish on the menu and drink five glasses of wine and order dessert.

You feel guilty the next day and try to make up for it by hardly eating a thing. Then you’re hungry and miserable, as well as full of shame. The next day you decide to treat yourself again. Before you know it, you’re on a downward spiral and feeling resentful that you can’t just eat what you want!

We have all been there!

That’s why the following nutrition tips are the best way to keep yourself feeling full, healthy, and motivated to keep going. They are simple, easy, and effective. Plus, if you are using Amylguard or Helix 4, these dietary guidelines will help you to see effective results sooner.

Let’s get into it…

  1. Stick to Whole Foods

That means single ingredient, whole foods. It couldn’t be easier, it’s what we are supposed to eat. Human beings were not designed to consume bags of processed mac and cheese. Make things with foods that your body recognizes as food, not packaged chemicals!

This does not mean cutting carbs! Eat rice, quinoa, potatoes, wholegrain pasta, oats and sweet potatoes. Eat eggs, meat and fish. Eat a wide variety of delicious vegetables and fruit. Just keep things simple, nutritious and as close to natural as possible.

  2. Eat when the Sun is Up

Sounds simple - that’s cos it is. The more sunlight you received, the more digestive enzymes and stomach acid you have. Your body is primed and wired to digest and absorb foods that are eaten during daylight hours. Your gut microbiome shifts according to your circadian rhythm.

Additionally, studies show that we are less sensitive to insulin in the evening after the sun has set, meaning that whatever you may have eaten in the morning, is used less efficiently by the cells in your body at night.

  3. Drink Clean, Filtered Mineral Water

It’s time to wave goodbye to diet soda and artificial sweeteners. Proper hydration is crucial for your entire body and health. Diet sodas may be low in calories, but they are loaded with artificial ingredients and sweeteners that throw your insulin and metabolism out of whack big time.

Sweeteners also stimulate hunger cravings and can lead to increased appetite!

Keep it easy and start each day with a big glass of water. Try to drink a glass of water before every meal, it will help you to manage your actual feelings of satiation after you eat and stop you reaching for another helping you don’t really need.

  4. Eat Local, Seasonal, and Freash

Similarly to Tip 1 the best thing to do is keep things simple with whole ingredients. It’s easier when you eat local, seasonal and fresh produce.

You are supporting your local economy as well as feeing your body with food grown in soil close to you, which will best support your gut microbiome.

People talk a lot these days about ancestral practices. I think the best way to honour the way we ate in the past is just about keeping things local, seasonal and simple.

Try to make sure what goes on your plate is nutrient dense and healthy for your cells.

Of course you can eat pizza and cookies also, but make sure they are as close to naturally made as possible, without the added extras.

If you want to eat Mac and Cheese, why not try making it from scratch using as little ingredients as possible?

Just remember these tips and keep enjoying life! Weight loss doesn’t need to ever be about denying yourself.
