You Can Never Lose Weight AND Enjoy Sweet Treats? Fake News..

Do you have a sweet tooth or a sugar addiction? Maybe you just really enjoy traditional desserts with high calories which make it hard to maintain an ideal weight.

Do you struggle with pleasure trap foods? Things like cakes and cupcakes and pies? Sometimes these foods activate cravings for sweet and fatty foods, making it much harder to stop eating after the initial bite!

Let me know if these are your trigger foods or how you deal with your sweet tooth! Reply to me.

I do want to say to anyone reading who is struggling with a sweet tooth, you are not alone and you do not have to give up your delicious treats to lose weight!

There is a way to enjoy sweet foods that satisfy your cravings, without harming your health and piling on the poinds.

You just need to become aware of ingredients, and start to make your own sweet treats at home so that you can control what goes inside.

There are plenty of recipes out there that mimic the rich desserts that are old time favorites, but instead of being made with processed ingredients and tons of sugar, they are made using unprocessed, whole food ingredients such as dates and nuts, and sweetened with fruit.

When you eat a dessert that has been made from healthy, whole foods packed with actual fiber and nutrients, you get full faster and it’s much easier to limit yourself to a reasonable portion.

Let your Tastebuds Adjust

You will have to allow for a period of time to reset your taste buds. If you’re usually eating standard donuts and slices of cake during the week, it might feel strange at first to eat things that are not laden with sugar, fat, and salt.

Sugar addiction in the USA is real. The average person consumes 17 teaspoons of added sugar per day - that’s an incredible amount and your brain will need a little time to appreciate what a healthier, moderate amount of sugar tastes and feels like in your body.

We’re not talking very long though, usually just a week or two of reduced sugar will help your taste buds to adjust. What happens next is usually pretty wild! You’ll have a piece of someone else’s cake or take a bite of an oreo cookie and find it to be overwhelmingly sweet and sickly. That’s when you know you have reduced your tolerance for so much sugar.

There are plenty of healthy recipes out there that use alternative ingredients and still taste absolutely amazing, and satisfy your cravings.

Moderation is Key

Of course, even healthy sweet treats need to be consumed in moderation. Nuts are still fattening in excess, although much better for you than tons of butter and sugar.

The best thing to do is to remind yourself that you have the power to make healthy decisions for your body. If you do indulge in something that you know is not the best choice for you, just allow yourself to have that moment and remember that next time, you have the power to say no.

Never regard yourself as a failure or think that you might as well eat all the bad things in sight just because you had a cookie!

Turn everything into an experience to learn from and remember the power you have to treat your body right and nourish it well.

Let me know how it goes for you!
